All students are from Primary 3 to Secondary 6.

For primary section, Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, General Studies, Music, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Putonghua, Reading Lesson and Social Education classes are provided.

For Secondary 1 to 3, Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Music, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Putonghua, Computer Studies, Reading Lesson, Design & Technology and Society Education classes are provided.

For Secondary 4-6, Society Education classes are also available, along with Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Liberal Studies, Physical Education and Visual Arts. In addition, the four elective subjects offered include Chinese History, Visual Arts as well as Physical Education.

In order to help students develop their full potential, Other Learning Experiences (OLE) courses are also available for both secondary and primary sections.

Our School is sponsored by the Society of Boys’ Centres in Hong Kong and the incorporated management committee was established on 1 September, 2008. We have implemented a full-scale “school-based management”. In addition to the administrative team, various task forces have been set up to be in charge of different affairs, including the coordination of school management, academic affairs, curriculum development, training, counselling, activities, general affairs, information technology, teacher professional development, parent-teacher association and alumni association. Furthermore, our Special School cum Resource Centre actively communicates with the community and supports our partner schools through various school-based services as an effort to help mainstream schools acquire specialized knowledge and skills in special education. Our leaver support programme helps school leavers return to ordinary schools.

Our student-centred curriculum is tailored to the students’ individual learning capacity and progress, catering for individual learning differences. In addition, our continuous and diversified assessment methods help pinpoint specific learning needs of individual students. Teachers can analyse the data and adjust their teaching strategies accordingly. Learning outcomes are documented in the students’ individual learning profiles. Moreover, we promote a culture of lesson observation that allows teachers to observe classes of their peers in order to learn from each other and facilitate teaching.

The School offers Short Term Modification Program to those mainstream students who exhibit behavioural, emotional and learning problems to help them improve their learning attitude and behavioural performance. After achieving the aims, they will be able to rejoin the original schools to continue their study.

The School provides “Bridging Course” which enables new students to adapt to the school environment and learning as soon as possible.

The School has its in-school educational psychologist to carry out test and evaluation on students as well as design appropriate materials to cater for their individual learning differences.

Teachers and social workers regularly hold “case study seminars” in order to formulate plans to improve students’ behavioural and learning progresses.

Personal and social education courses are offered to promote students’ socializing ability.  

Individual homework tutoring classes are offered after school to achieve gifted education.

Academic and Extra-curricular Performance

We are devoted to cultivating a reading habit among students by arranging a daily reading class to develop a culture of reading. In addition, our students have had remarkable achievements in various occasions, including sports competitions, inter-school speech competitions, dance festivals and drama competitions. Teachers and students from our School have formed a volunteer service team to pay regular visits to the elderly who live alone and children with intellectual disabilities.
